When Stretching Isn’t Enough: A Visit to Heights Acupuncture & Wellness

Heights Acupuncture & Wellness | The Heights Days | Acupuncture in Houston Heights

If you’ve been powering through back-to-back days, sleeping weird, and telling yourself a ten-minute YouTube yoga flow will fix it — you’re not alone. At a certain point, the stress gets into your shoulders, your jaw, your sleep, and your mood. And it sticks.

Heights Acupuncture & Wellness offers something different — real, rooted support that goes deeper than surface-level relief.

Led by Dr. Nathalie Folch, the clinic blends traditional Chinese medicine with modern therapeutic techniques in a space that’s calm, unpretentious, and refreshingly no-nonsense.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all wellness experience. It’s thoughtful, personalized care designed to help your nervous system actually reset — and give your body a break from always bracing.

Meet Dr. Nathalie Folch

Dr. Folch is a licensed acupuncturist with a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. She’s also an MD (from Mexico), holds a Master of Public Health, and is board certified by the NCCAOM and licensed by the Texas Medical Board. In short: she knows her stuff — and brings a global, well-rounded perspective to healing.

Her own journey with acupuncture started in medical school, when she found that regular stress treatments helped her stay grounded. Years later, frustrated by the limitations of Western pain management, she shifted paths to pursue Traditional Chinese Medicine full time.

Since then, she’s made it her mission to help others heal physically, mentally, and emotionally — and she's not big on fluff or woo-woo. She’s about results, balance, and real care.

Services That Actually Help

The clinic offers a wide range of services, and everything starts with a full consultation — including pulse and tongue diagnosis, a deep dive into your history, and a tailored treatment plan based on what’s going on in your body and life. No two sessions are the same, and follow-ups are adjusted based on your progress.

HERE’S WHAT THEY OFFER:

Traditional Acupuncture
The most widely practiced form, using sterile, single-use needles to stimulate a physiological response in the body.

Therapeutic Sports Acupuncture
Designed for injury recovery and chronic pain, this combines acupuncture with modalities like cupping, gua sha, or moxibustion for deeper healing.

Electro-Acupuncture Medicine (EAM™)
A modern twist using electrical stimulation to relieve pain, release hormones, and activate neurotransmitters — especially effective for neurological and musculoskeletal issues.

Neuro-Acupuncture
A blend of Chinese scalp acupuncture and Western neuroanatomy used to support conditions like stroke recovery, Parkinson’s, and nerve-related issues.

Cupping & Gua Sha
Cupping improves circulation and detoxification, while gua sha uses a tool on lubricated skin to help with inflammation, tension, or stagnation.

Herbal Formulations
Personalized blends in the form of tinctures, teas, capsules, and topicals, often used in conjunction with other treatments.

What It Feels Like

This is care that’s calm, quiet, and focused. You’ll spend much of your time in a peaceful treatment room, needles in place, lying still while your nervous system gets a chance to downshift. It’s not uncommon to feel tingles, emotional release, or a wave of calm — but it’s not dramatic or overwhelming. Most people say they walk out feeling like they finally exhaled.

As one patient described it:

“It was 60 minutes of stillness, and it felt like my whole body finally stopped yelling at me.”
